Pastor Reginald Jefferson is a native of Dallas, TX. He was educated in Dallas ISD until the last semester of his senior year when he graduated from Wilmer Hutchins high school. He accepted Christ at the young age of 12 and was baptized. Pastor Jefferson attended Texas College in Tyler, TX. after earning a basketball scholarship. Pastor Jefferson is married to Saundra Jefferson. They have been married over 25 years and they have three (3) children. Pastor Jefferson served 4 years in the US Navy. Part of his time was spent on board of the US Kitty Hawk and USS Carl Vincent. Pastor Jefferson accepted his call to preach the gospel at an early age, nevertheless it was not until 1988 that Reginald rededicated his life to Christ under the ministry of Bishop Alester Oliver. In 1993 a new zeal for Christian Education erupted in Pastor Jefferson’s heart and he enrolled in D. Edwin Johnson Baptist Institute.
After serving at Faith Memorial Church for 2 years, Pastor Jefferson was inspired to help the late Rev. Hugh Stephens at the Ledge Rock Baptist Church in Carrollton, TX. While serving as Minister of Evangelism at Ledge Rock, Pastor Stephens was called home to heaven. Reginald was asked to stand as the interim Pastor. Pastor Jefferson served in this position for 6 months. When a Pastor was elected for the Ledge Rock Baptist Church, Pastor Jefferson moved on to the New Hope Baptist Church of Mesquite. This move to the New Hope Baptist Church of Mesquite was initiated by the missions Pastor of Keller Springs Baptist Church, Rev. James Charles. At that time New Hope Baptist Church of Mesquite was meeting in a small room housed in the First Baptist Church of Mesquite, TX. Pastor Jefferson was ordained at the Greater Christian Love Missionary Baptist Church by Rev. Clayborn Moss while serving as the pastor of New Hope Baptist Church of Mesquite.
Pastor Jefferson returned to Texas College to complete his education and received his B.S. in Business Administration. He continued his education at the prestigious Dallas Theological Seminary pursing a degree in Christian Education. Pastor Jefferson has a heart for ministry with a passion toward inner city problems and desires to see all men saved. His ministry focuses on men and he teaches them to be the priest, profit, provider and protector in their homes according to the scriptures. Pastor Jefferson also focuses on the entire family desiring to build strong, loving, prosperous and thriving families. Pastor Jefferson has served as senior Pastor of New Hope Baptist Church for nearly 20 years.
